In the Luther Year 2017, questions of faith and their significance are more than ever at the center of many unresolved problems. “Nathan’s Children” by Ulrich Hub, in his free adaptation of Lessing’s ‘Nathan the Wise’, is set in Jerusalem. It is no coincidence that the author chose this city in Israel. There is hardly any other place in the world where all three world religions - Judaism, Christianity and Islam - live so close together. The stage is an abstract space in which everyone has to meet everyone else.
In this production by Regine Heintze, I played the eponymous Nathan. The play premiered at stellwerk.
